MR-tomography was used for the investigation of 38 healthy persons aged 17 to 48 with normal BP values without any renal and adrenal pathology (kidneys were investigated in 25 persons, adrenal glands--in 16). A BMT-1100 MR-tomograph (Brucker, FRG) was used for investigation. The authors stress noninvasiveness of the new method and its practical value. It permits the differentiation of the cortical and medullary substance of the kidney and in some cases of the adrenal glands. It also permits the evaluation of their shape, size and position. The authors also showed a possibility of assessing the status of these organs using some quantitative parameters. Due to its safety, high resolution and good imaging the method holds great promise.

Background: The selection and extent of application for both total adrenalectomy (TA) and partial adrenalectomy (PA) within this surgical approach continue to be matters of debate. This paper compares the postoperative efficacy and functional indicators of PA and TA to provide comprehensive insights for clinicians to consider the best surgical treatment options.
Methods: Systematic review on PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, Web of Science, and China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) was conducted.
Myelolipoma of the adrenal gland is a rare, benign, non-functioning tumor characterized by the presence of adipose tissue and bone marrow elements. We present the case of a 48-year-old woman with intermittent left flank pain and an incidental finding of an adrenal tumor on computed tomography. The patient underwent laparoscopic tumor resection due to the large size of the tumor.

In 1849, Thomas Addison discovered alterations in the adrenal glands at autopsy of three patients who had died with idiopathic anemia. Struck by Addison's work, Charles-Edouard Brown-Séquard demonstrated in 1851 that bilateral adrenalectomy in dogs was fatal. It was not until 1950 that the discovery of the hormones of the adrenal cortex, their structure and their biological effects allowed Kendall, Reichstein and Hench to win the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine.

Objectives: To evaluate the performance of a 3D V-Net-based segmentation model of adrenal lesions in characterizing adrenal glands as normal or abnormal.
Methods: A total of 1086 CT image series with focal adrenal lesions were retrospectively collected, annotated, and used for the training of the adrenal lesion segmentation model. The dice similarity coefficient (DSC) of the test set was used to evaluate the segmentation performance.

Erlotinib, an epidermal growth factor receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitor (EGFR-TKI), is currently used in the therapy of several solid malignancies. This agent has been associated with several dermatological side-effects, the most common being papulo-pustular acneiform rash. Herein we describe a unique skin effect in a patient treated with erlotinib for non-small cell lung cancer.
