Background: This study was to investigate the pathological significance of protein expression of matrix metalloproteinase-1 (MMP1) and matrix metalloproteinase-3 (MMP3) in colon tissues of remission patients of steroid-dependent uncreative colitis (SDUC).
Methods: To test the possible involvement of MMP-1 and MMP-3 in SDUC, Western- blot and immunohistochemistry were applied to examine the protein expression of MMP-1 and MMP-3 in the colonic healing region from 10 remission patients with SDUC as well as from 10 remission patients with non-SDUC. Ten specimens from normal colon tissues were used as controls.
Results: Compared with the control group, the protein expression of MMP-1 and MMP-3 from non-SDUC remission patients slightly increased (p > 0.05), in contrast, those from SDUC patients significantly increased (p < 0.01).
Conclusions: Over-expression of MMP-1 and MMP-3 play a critical role in the pathogenesis of SDUC.

Non-functioning pituitary adenomas (NFPAs) are hormonally inactive benign tumors, usually diagnosed as macro-adenoma. The aim of our research was to analyze the clinical and hormonal characteristics of NFPAs using Knosp and revised Knosp classifications. Furthermore, we aimed to assess the possibility of predicting surgical remission after surgery.

Background: Poor dietary quality has been described as a contributor to symptoms in subjects with functional gastrointestinal (GI) symptoms. Hitherto, the focus in dietary evaluation and treatment in this patient group has mainly been on avoiding individual nutrient deficiencies, and less attention has been given to the dietary pattern and the overall food quality. Hence, we aim to describe and evaluate the dietary quality in patients with functional GI symptoms.

Background: Biological therapies, including TNF-alpha, IL12/23, IL17 and IL23 antagonists, adequately control a very high number of patients with moderate-to-severe psoriasis with an excellent long-term safety profile. However, on occasion, patients on biological therapy with stabilized disease or complete remission report episodes of sudden breakthrough psoriasis.
Aim: To study prospectively in a monocentric tertiary setting, the clinical characteristics of patients presenting a sudden breakthrough psoriasis although completely stabilized (PASI 90-100) under biological therapy.

Allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (Allo-HSCT) remains the mainstay of treatment for adults with high-risk acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). Due to the crucial role of measurable residual disease (MRD) before Allo-HSCT in predicting relapse and the promising anti-leukemia effect of blinatumomab, we documented a short-course, low-dose conditioning regimen incorporating blinatumomab for Allo-HSCT in three ALL patients with positive MRD. Following the administration of the blinatumomab-containing conditioning regimen, all patients attained complete remission (CR) with negative MRD status, and no severe adverse events were observed.

Papulonodular mucinosis (PNM) is a rare cutaneous mucinosis recognized as a rare variant of lupus erythematosus. There are no large-scale cohort studies characterizing its clinicopathological features or evaluating the effectiveness of various treatment options. This study aimed to review the literature on PNMs to identify its clinical and histological features and treatment outcomes.
