Article Abstract

Health is a complex concept. In 1946, the World Health Organization (WHO) defined it as 'a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being, and not merely the absence of disease and infirmity'. 'Ill' health could thus be defined as feelings of pain and discomfort or change in usual functioning and feeling.
