The prevention and management of pressure sores presents enormous challenges to health professionals, particularly those working in specialties such as elderly care or spinal Injuries. Bringing together the findings of three investigations and offering practical guidance to nursing colleagues, this frequently quoted study has become established as a key contribution to pressure area care. Certainly the work displays great foresight and conviction that something could, and indeed should, be done about pressure area care. Given the importance attached to this work, however, it is of concern that a number of methodological and analytical oversights cast doubt on the validity of the conclusions.

The effects of sugar boiling pretreatment (SBP) with different maltitol concentrations (20 %, 30 %, and 40 %) and boiling time (0 - 6 min) on the physicochemical and functional properties of purple sweet potato flour and the radiofrequency explosion puffing (RFEP) quality were investigated. The results showed that the volume ratio, crispness, anthocyanin retention rate and overall acceptability of the samples were maximized after boiling for 6 min at 40 % maltitol concentration achieving increases of 78.63 %, 437.

Within the material family of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) the subclass of flexible MOFs (flexMOFs) has attracted great attention, showing structural flexibility as a response to external stimuli such as guest adsorption, temperature, and pressure. Hybrid composites like nanoparticle (NP) loaded flexible MOFs, which stand to potentially combine advantageous properties of both are yet largely unexplored. Here the synthesis of flexMOFs with surface mounted nanoparticles, e.

Importance: The Veterans Health Administration (VHA) launched the Clinical Resource Hub (CRH), a national telehealth contingency staffing program, to address primary care staffing shortages and improve veteran access to primary care. How this large-scale telehealth intervention affects quality of care is unknown.
Objective: To assess the quality of care for chronic disease management among US veterans receiving high vs low levels of CRH-delivered primary care services and whether racial and ethnic minority veterans experience outcomes similar to those of White veterans when receiving CRH-delivered care.

Importance: It is unclear whether the effects of intensive vs standard blood pressure (BP) targets seen in clinical trials generalize to patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) encountered in everyday practice due to differences in the distribution of cardiovascular risk factors and coexisting conditions.
Objective: To evaluate whether the beneficial and adverse effects of intensive vs standard BP control observed in the Systolic Blood Pressure Intervention Trial (SPRINT) are transportable to a target population of adults with CKD in clinical practice.
Design, Setting, And Participants: This comparative effectiveness study identified 2 populations with CKD who met the eligibility criteria for SPRINT between January 1 and December 31, 2019, in the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) and Kaiser Permanente of Southern California (KPSC).

Background And Objective: The incidence of central precocious puberty (CPP) in girls increased significantly during the COVID-19 pandemic. This study aimed to explore the impact of perfluorinated endocrine disruptors on CPP through metabolomics analysis in girls from Hainan Province, China.
Methods: Serum samples from 100 girls with CPP and 100 healthy controls were collected.
