Gastric banding is a popular method for the treatment of morbid obesity. Amongst complications, gastric erosion remains uncommon but could prove fatal. Multiple techniques, from open surgery to endoscopic and standard laparoscopic technique for their removal, have been previously detailed in the literature. However, only a few reports have mentioned their total laparoscopic transgastric removal in the literature. Herein, we report a successful removal of an eroding gastric band with its technical suggestion in a 43-year-old female patient 22 months following its application.

Introduction: Endoscopic resection is suitable for most benign gastric or early stage cancerous polyps. Laparoscopic local resection is performed only for gastric polyps that are difficult to treat with endoscopic resection, such as recurrent or large polyps. However, when polyps are located in difficult regions, such as the gastric cardia and prepyloric antrum, wedge resection may damage the sphincter around the cardia or pylorus, resulting in postoperative deformity or stenosis.

Background: Solid pseudopapillary neoplasms (SPNs) of the pancreas are rare tumors with low malignant potential that usually occur in young girls and women. This study investigated the treatment experiences and outcomes after surgery for pediatric SPNs in our institutions as pediatric case series of solid SPNs are few, and long-term follow-up is also limited.

Methods: We retrospectively reviewed the outcomes of nine patients diagnosed with SPNs who underwent surgery in our three hospitals (The Jikei University Hospital, The Jikei University Kashiwa Hospital, and Kawaguchi Municipal Medical Center) between 2001 and 2023.

The review is devoted to transgastric necrectomy in the treatment of infected forms of acute pancreatitis. The authors discuss the indications for transgastric necrectomy and technical features of these interventions (direct endoscopic necrectomy, laparoscopic and open transgastric necrectomy). Numerous studies devoted to results of transgastric necrectomy indicate advisability of this procedure in carefully selected patients and interdisciplinary interaction of various specialists before and after surgery.
