In tomographic imaging of magnetically confined toroidal plasmas, a countermeasure against missing observation has been studied in terms of the adoption of prior information based on modelled plasma profiles. The Tikhonov regularization for image reconstruction is extended by the use of the Euclidean distance. A procedure of model fitting is designed in order to adaptively generate the reference image. The new method is tested on a typical example of ill-conditioned tomography, that is, the three-dimensional imaging-bolometer tomography in the large helical device. It has been found that the new method is useful for diminishing artifacts and thus for better recognizing the radiation structure of plasma.

Introduction: Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is a global problem and is especially threatening for low-and-middle income countries like Bangladesh. The COSTAR (Community-led Solutions to Antimicrobial Resistance) project includes a Randomised Control Trial (RCT) which aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the Community Dialog Approach (CDA) to improve levels of correct and appropriate knowledge and reported practice about antibiotics, antibiotic use, and antibiotic resistance (ABR) from a One Health perspective, among adult community members in 5 selected sub-districts of Cumilla. The CDA is a community engagement approach involving community members in active discussions also known as Community Dialogs (CD), run by local facilitators.

Sleep apnea endotypes and their implications for clinical practise.

Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is now recognized to be a multifactorial disorder caused by several endotypes that differ between individuals and patient populations. In order to understand the current clinical implications of OSA endotypes, this review aims to examine the current state of play in endotype measurements, endotype modification and their impact on clinical outcomes/prognosis. In summary, the field has developed multiple techniques to measure the endotypes over the last few decades.

The enormous diversity of bacteriophages and their bacterial hosts presents a significant challenge to predict which phages infect a focal set of bacteria. Infection is largely determined by complementary-and largely uncharacterized-genetics of adsorption, injection, cell take-over, and lysis. Here we present a machine learning approach to predict phage-bacteria interactions trained on genome sequences of and phenotypic interactions among 51 strains and 45 phage λ strains that coevolved in laboratory conditions for 37 days.

TransformerLSR: Attentive joint model of longitudinal data, survival, and recurrent events with concurrent latent structure.

In applications such as biomedical studies, epidemiology, and social sciences, recurrent events often co-occur with longitudinal measurements and a terminal event, such as death. Therefore, jointly modeling longitudinal measurements, recurrent events, and survival data while accounting for their dependencies is critical. While joint models for the three components exist in statistical literature, many of these approaches are limited by heavy parametric assumptions and scalability issues.
