Objective: To investigate construct validity of radiographic damage of the feet in gout.
Methods: Radiographs of the feet were scored using the Sharp/van der Heijde method. Factors associated with damage were investigated by a negative binomial model, and contribution of damage to health by linear regressions.
Results: Age, disease duration, serum uric acid, and tophi were associated with being erosive and erosion score. Tophi were associated with joint space narrowing. Erosions were associated (β 0.47, 95% CI 0.09-0.84) with physical function, but damage was not associated with overall physical health.
Conclusion: Our results support construct validity for radiographs of the feet when assessing joint damage in gout.

Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) in patients undergoing endoscopic endonasal surgery remains underexplored, despite its potential impact on postoperative recovery. This study aimed to develop and validate a predictive nomogram for assessing the risk of lower-limb DVT in such patients without chemoprophylaxis. A retrospective analysis was conducted on 935 patients with postoperative lower-limb vein ultrasonography.

This study introduces a novel ensemble learning technique namely Multi-Armed Bandit Ensemble (MAB-Ensemble), designed for lane detection in road images intended for autonomous vehicles. The foundation of the proposed MAB-Ensemble technique is inspired in terms of Multi-Armed bandit optimization to facilitate efficient model selection for lane segmentation. The benchmarking dataset namely TuSimple is used for training, validating and testing the proposed and existing lane detection techniques.

Glycosylation changes of circulating proteins carrying the CA19-9 antigen may offer new targets for detection methods to be explored for the diagnosis of epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC). Search for assay designs for targets initially captured by a CA19-9 antigen reactive antibody from human body fluids by probing with fluorescent nanoparticles coated with lectins or antibodies to known EOC associated proteins. CA19-9 antigens were immobilized from ascites fluids, ovarian cyst fluids or serum samples using monoclonal antibody C192 followed by probing of carrier proteins using anti-MUC16, anti-MUC1 and, anti STn antibodies and seven lectins, all separately coated on nanoparticles.

To explore biomarkers for the efficacy of lymphocyte immunotherapy (LIT) treating women with unexplained recurrent spontaneous abortion (URSA). Serum samples from 24 URSA potients who received LIT were collected at Peking University Third Hospital from December 2014 to June 2015. Semiquantitative sandwich-based antibody arrays containing 40 cytokines were used to screen target immune cytokines in the peripheral blood of URSA patients before and after LIT.
