Current study is based on the biology-oriented drug synthesis (BIODS) of 2-(2-methyl-5-nitro-1H-imidazol-1-yl)ethyl aryl carboxylate derivatives 1-26, by treating metronidazole with different aryl and hetero-aryl carboxylic acids in the presence of 1,1'-carbonyl diimidazole (CDI) as a coupling agent. Structures of all synthetic derivatives were confirmed with the help of various spectroscopic techniques such as EI-MS, H -NMR and C NMR. CHN elemental analyses were also found in agreement with the calculated values. Synthetic derivatives were evaluated to check their β-glucuronidase inhibitory activity which revealed that except few derivatives, all demonstrated good inhibition in the range of IC = 1.20 ± 0.01-60.30 ± 1.40 μM as compared to the standard d-saccharic acid 1,4-lactone (IC = 48.38 ± 1.05 μM). Compounds 1, 3, 4, 6, 9-19, and 21-24 were found to be potent analogs and showed superior activity than standard. Limited structure-activity relationship is suggested that the molecules having electron withdrawing groups like NO, F, Cl, and Br, were displayed better activity than the compounds with electron donating groups such as Me, OMe and BuO. To verify these interpretations, in silico study was also performed, a good correlation was observed between bioactivities and docking studies.

The treatment of non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) has progressed from histology-oriented cytotoxic therapy to the era of molecular biology-oriented targeted therapy and immunotherapy. As the first tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) targeting the pathway, crizotinib is widely used as a first-line regimen for -rearranged NSCLC. However, due to the paucity of solid data from randomized, controlled phase III clinical studies, clinicians often require more systematic, real-world data-based guidance for its optimal clinical use.

Here, we report a novel endonuclease and N-adenine DNA methyltransferase (mA methyltransferase) in the Ureaplasma parvum SV3F4 strain. Our previous study found that the SV3F4 strain carries 17 unique genes, which are not encoded in the two previously reported U. parvum serovar 3 strain, OMC-P162 and ATCC 700970.

Waldiomycin is an inhibitor of histidine kinases (HKs). Although most HK inhibitors target the ATP-binding region, waldiomycin binds to the intracellular dimerization domain (DHp domain) with its naphthoquinone moiety presumed to interact with the conserved H-box region. To further develop inhibitors targeting the H-box, various 2-aminonaphthoquinones with cyclic, aliphatic, or aromatic amino groups and naphtho [2,3-d] isoxazole-4,9-diones were synthesized.

This review explores the recent advancements in the design and synthesis of pseudo-natural products (pseudo-NPs) by employing innovative principles and strategies, heralding a transformative era in chemistry and biology. Pseudo-NPs, produced through in silico fragmentation and the de novo recombination of natural product fragments, reveal compounds endowed with distinct biological activities. Their advantage lies in transcending natural product structures, fostering diverse possibilities.

Drug screening tests are mandatory in the search for drugs in forensic biological samples, and immunological methods and mass spectrometry (e.g., gas chromatography-mass spectrometry and liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry) are commonly used for that purpose.
