The first experiments on the observation of short pulsed superradiant (SR) emission with the excitation of a surface wave by a relativistic electron bunch moving in an oversized corrugated waveguide were performed. Subterahertz SR pulses with a central frequency of 0.14 THz, an ultrashort duration of 150 ps, and an extremely high peak power of 50-70 MW were generated. The experiments were based on a theoretical consideration including the quasioptical approach and direct particle-in-cell simulations.

Introduction: Brugada Syndrome (BrS) is an inherited arrhythmia syndrome characterised by ST-segment elevation in the right precordial ECG leads and is associated with an increased risk of sudden cardiac death. We identify and characterise a novel SCN3B variant encoding the regulatory β3-subunit of the cardiac voltage-gated sodium channel, Na1.5.

Surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) represents a compelling detection methodology centered on the electromagnetic fields, commonly termed "hot spots", generated around noble nanoparticles. Nonetheless, the efficacy of electromagnetic field (EMF) amplification is constrained when utilizing individual nanoparticles. There has been a notable lack of experimental and theoretically simulated studies regarding the increase of the electromagnetic field when gold nanorods with different aspect ratios undergo self-assembly in either perpendicular or parallel orientations to substrates.

Distortions in the porphyrin core from planarity can trigger a unique structure-property relationship, imparting its basicity, chemical stability, redox potential, and excited-state energetics, among other properties. The colour change promoted by such distortion is signed by red shifts in its electronic absorption spectra. The adsorption of guest -substituted free-base porphyrin species onto inorganic hosts, such as clay minerals (layered aluminium or magnesium silicates), is known to further promote colour changes.

Fluoroquinolone antibiotic residues, ofloxacin (OFX) have aroused more attention because of their serious influence on surface water and food area, which seriously affect human health. Herein, a visible and high-performance sensor method for detecting OFX is fabricated successfully by co-assembling bimetallic Ln (Eu/Tb) and amino-clay named EuTb(BZ)@AC. By changing the ultraviolet excitation wavelength, the sensor displayed high sensitivity and low detection limit to OFX in different modes of detection OFX, which are ratiometric luminescent sensor and turn-on luminescent sensor approaches.

Laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) is a rapidly evolving in-situ multi-element analysis technique that has significantly advanced the field of liquid analysis. This study employs a femtosecond laser for quantitative analysis of heavy metals in flowing liquids, exploring its detection sensitivity and accuracy. Femtosecond pulsed laser excitation of water in a dynamic environment generates plasma while effectively preventing liquid splashing.
