Though the incidence of maxillofacial injuries in children is lower compared to their adult counterparts, nasal bone and mandibular fractures are among the most commonly encountered. Management and treatment of mandibular fractures, in particular condylar, in this population is challenging due to anatomical and functional considerations, and conservative management remains the treatment of choice. This case report highlights an innovative technique of conservative management using orthodontic brackets and a myofunctional appliance in a patient who sustained a condylar fracture after falling from his bicycle.

Introduction And Importance: Mandibular fractures are one of the most common sites of injuries and are difficult to restore in establishing preinjury occlusion and it is influenced by biomechanical principles. Open Reduction and Internal Fixation remain the gold standard in treating mandibular fractures to achieve pre-injury occlusion though it was limited toward expensive cost. As an option, closed reduction using an arch bar, wire, and elastic combination was preferred to establish functional preinjury occlusion.

Sternal fractures resulting from blunt chest trauma often present unique surgical challenges. While conservative management is common, cases with significant displacement, delayed union, or painful dyspnea may require surgical intervention to improve structural stability and relieve symptoms. Here, we report the case of a 46-year-old man who sustained a displaced sternal fracture in a motor vehicle accident.
