Ultrasound elastography is a novel imaging modality for evaluating the elasticity of biological tissues. The technique is widely used in oncology to detect and differentiate malignant lesions in soft tissues. Studies have explored use of ultrasound elastography to measure the mechanical properties of muscle in patients with multiple sclerosis spasticity. Real-time elastography was shown to correlate well with subjective scales commonly used to measure MS spasticity. Ultrasound elastography has the potential to become a new objective gold standard to monitor symptom evolution in patients with MS spasticity and to evaluate the efficacy of antispasticity treatment.

Background: Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is the most prevalent chronic liver condition in children, underscoring the urgent need for non-invasive markers for early detection in this population.
Methods: We utilized survey data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) 2017-2020 regarding liver ultrasound transient elastography (LUTE) for the diagnosis of NAFLD (dependent variable), and used multiple logistic regression models to explore the association between weight-adjusted waist circumference index (WWI) and the prevalence of NAFLD in US adolescents. Smoothing curves and threshold effect analyses were used to assess the non-linear association between the independent variables and the dependent variable.

Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and chronic kidney disease are global public health issues associated with high morbidity and mortality. Both diseases are also interlinked. Little is known about the meaning of NAFLD in hemodialysis (HD) patients.

Purpose: In magnetic resonance-guided focused ultrasound (MRgFUS) breast therapies, the focal location must be characterized to guide successful treatment. Focal characterization is difficult because heterogeneous breast tissues introduce phase aberrations that blur and shift the focus and traditional guidance methods do not work in adipose tissues. The purpose of this work is to evaluate numerical simulations of MRgFUS that predict the focal location.

Objective: This prospective observational study aimed to assess the effectiveness of B-mode ultrasound, color-coded Doppler, and shear-wave elastography in predicting intracranial pressure (ICP) and their capability to evaluate the efficacy of ICP lowering therapy.
Materials And Methods: Forty-eight neuro-critical care patients were enrolled and categorized into 2 groups based on ICP measurements obtained through external ventricular drainage: the intracranial hypertension (IH) and normal ICP groups. The optic nerve (ON) sheath diameter (ONSD), end diastolic velocity, peak systolic velocity, resistance index of the central retinal artery (CRA), and Young's modulus (YM) of the ON were recorded after external ventricular drainage placement and following ICP lowering treatment in the IH group.

Background: Splenic stiffness is a potential imaging marker of portal hypertension. Normative spleen stiffness values are needed to define diagnostic thresholds.
Objective: To report stiffness measurements of the spleen in healthy children undergoing liver magnetic resonance (MR) elastography across MRI vendors and field strengths.
