Objective: Heated High Flow Nasal Cannula (HHFNC) and Bilevel Positive Airway Pressure (BPAP) are non-invasive respiratory support modalities used in pediatric asthma exacerbations. We aim to examine differences in characteristics and outcomes for patients admitted to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) on standard therapy (ST) alone (continuous albuterol and systemic corticosteroids), ST plus HHFNC, and ST plus BPAP.
Methods: This is a retrospective and prospective observational cohort study.

Background: Cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) response relies on 2 factors: when and where to pace. These factors may be enhanced by dynamic atrioventricular delays (AVDs) (eg, SyncAV CRT, Abbott Cardiovascular, Abbott Park, IL) and multisite left ventricular (LV) pacing (eg, MultiPoint Pacing [MPP], Abbott). Their individual and combined synchronization contributions have not been evaluated across a comprehensive spectrum of pacing configurations.

Objectives: To investigate the association between loneliness and intrinsic capacity, a multidimensional indicator of healthy ageing, in Brazilians aged ≥50 years.
Method: This cross-sectional study used baseline data from 7,123 participants of the nationally representative Brazilian Longitudinal Study of Aging (ELSI-Brazil) (2015-2016). Intrinsic capacity (IC) (sensory, mobility, psychological, cognitive, and vitality), was determined using a validated composite z-score (higher scores = better capacity).

Background: Early metabolic change on PET/CT was predictive of response to neoadjuvant trastuzumab/pertuzumab (HP) in TBCRC026. We hypothesized that a composite biomarker incorporating PET/CT and HER2 tissue-based biomarkers could improve biomarker performance.

Existing deep reinforcement learning (DRL) algorithms suffer from the problem of low sample efficiency. Episodic memory allows DRL algorithms to remember and use past experiences with high return, thereby improving sample efficiency. However, due to the high dimensionality of the state-action space in continuous action tasks, previous methods in continuous action tasks often only utilize the information stored in episodic memory, rather than directly employing episodic memory for action selection as done in discrete action tasks.
