The differential diagnosis for inflammatory neck swellings is vast. A swelling of dental origin should be considered because, while rare, they mimic more common causes of neck lumps. We report the case involving a recurrent submandibular swelling in a young female patient that was presumed to be an epidermoid cyst by her general medical practitioner. After 6 months of unsuccessful treatment in the community, an odontogenic source was identified and treated successfully following referral to a local Oral and Maxillofacial department.

Cutaneous plasmacytosis (CP) is a rare condition characterized by benign proliferation of mature plasma cells in the skin. Background: Reconstruction of head and neck defects following tumor excision is one of the most challenging surgeries due to multiple reasons, such as associated cosmetic and functional impairments. The three-dimensional aspect of the defect makes it more difficult. Although in modern settings, microvascular surgery is preferred in many conditions, it requires the presence of resources and expertise.

Neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF-1) is a genetic disorder commonly characterized by café-au-lait macules, neurofibromas and axillary freckling. We present the case of a 20-year-old female who had bilateral neck swellings, and these swellings were misdiagnosed as cervical lymphadenopathy, and the patient was started on anti-tubercular therapy (ATT), but the swellings didn't show any improvement despite 6 months of ATT. Further examination revealed thickening of the greater auricular, supratrochlear and supraorbital nerves, accompanied by an unusual freckling pattern along the thickened nerves, which were suggestive of neurofibromatosis.
