Collaboration has been recognized as an important relationship variable in psychotherapy that is linked to client treatment outcomes. Although many therapists seek to build a collaborative working relationship with their clients when making treatment decisions, collaboration is also an important technique that can be used to help clients plan for a successful termination. Collaborative termination strategies can first be used in the initial session in order to address clients' termination expectations. Strategies can also be used throughout treatment to help clients focus on their treatment goals. Last, collaborative termination strategies should be used in the final session to help clients take ownership of their gains and to equalize the therapeutic relationship. In this article, we provide specific recommendations for collaborating with clients in preparing for psychotherapy termination. Case examples demonstrating these strategies are also provided. Background: Vancomycin, an antibiotic with activity against methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), is frequently included in empiric treatment for community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) despite the fact that MRSA is rarely implicated in CAP. Conducting polymerase chain reaction (PCR) testing on nasal swabs to identify the presence of MRSA colonization has been proposed as an antimicrobial stewardship intervention to reduce the use of vancomycin. Observational studies have shown reductions in vancomycin use after implementation of MRSA colonization testing, and this approach has been adopted by CAP guidelines.

Background: Metabolic bariatric surgery is the most effective therapy for severe obesity, which affects the health of millions, most of whom are women of child-bearing age. Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (RYGB) and sleeve gastrectomy (SG) are the most common bariatric procedures and are associated with durable weight loss and comorbidity resolution. Although obstetric outcomes broadly improve, the safety profile comparing the impact of RYGB and SG on obstetric outcomes is underexplored.

Introduction: Although maintenance treatment is recommended for the prevention of relapse, in real-world settings, a subset of patients discontinue antipsychotics while having a good prognosis. The prediction of functional remission in patients with schizophrenia after antipsychotic discontinuation (FURSAD) study aims to obtain real-world knowledge regarding the characteristics of schizophrenia (SCZ) patients who achieve functional remission after antipsychotic discontinuation for 1 year or more. This study also aims to establish a prediction model to identify patients likely to benefit from antipsychotic discontinuation.
