The results of the research indicated that the Po activity concentration in sweat samples was between 0.22 ± 0.03 to 2.10 ± 0.15 mBq·g d.w. The obtained results of the studies showed that smoking and eating fish led to higher activity concentrations of Po in sweat in comparison to the control group. Statistical analysis of Po activity concentrations in sweat samples showed significant differences between control, smoking, fish eating and age groups, while no significant differences was found for Po between volunteers as far as gender is concerned.

Detection of anti-MGL_1304 IgE using the ImmunoCAP system for diagnosis of type I allergy to sweat.

Allergol Int

December 2024

Department of Dermatology, Graduate School of Biomedical and Health Sciences, Hiroshima University, Hiroshima, Japan; Department of Dermatology, Hiroshima City Hiroshima Citizens Hospital, Hiroshima, Japan. Electronic address:

Background: Type I allergy to sweat is involved in the pathogenesis of atopic dermatitis (AD) and cholinergic urticaria (CholU), with MGL_1304 from Malassezia globosa being the major causative antigen. Currently, no standard diagnostic test exists for sweat allergy that uses serum.

Methods: The ImmunoCAP (iCAP) system to measure antigen-specific IgE was developed using recombinant MGL_1304 (rMGL_1304).

Background: Processing methods of traditional Chinese medicinal materials are critical in influencing the active metabolites and pharmacological effects. The fresh processing method effectively prevents the loss and degradation of metabolites, common in traditional drying and softening processes, while also reducing production costs. (AR), a leguminous botanical drug, is widely utilized in clinical practice and functional foods.

In this study, we realized a real-time and enzyme-free measurement of lactate in sweat in the same way as an enzyme-based amperometric method. A conductive polymer, which is based on polyaniline (PANI), was strongly coated on a glassy carbon electrode as a poly -aminophenylboronic acid (PANI-PBA) membrane by drop-casting, which is a convenient method, owing to adhesive phytic acid (PA) molecules with negative charges included as a dopant. This polymer membrane had a functional structure with PBA in the PANI main chain, which expectedly induced electrical charges upon diol binding to lactate, owing to the formation of deprotonated boronate esters with negative charges.
