The genomes of two Ralstonia pickettii strains (H2Cu2 and H2Cu5), isolated from hospital effluent in a selective medium containing CuSO were sequenced. They presented MICs of >256 and 6 µg/ml for the aminoglycoside gentamicin, respectively. The 5.2-Mb draft genomes have 40 contigs for strain H2Cu2 and 113 for H2Cu5.

Ralstonia species are recently emerging as pathogens of human importance. This study was performed to assess the distribution of Ralstonia species among bacteremia patients and the clinical and demographical factors of these patients. This retrospective observational study was performed in the Microbiology Department of a tertiary care center in North India from April 2022 to April 2024.

Chelating agents used in agriculture and land reclamation practices must exhibit the capacity to firmly bind metal ions while also rapidly decomposing into non-toxic compounds due to their introduction into the environment in substantial quantities. It is therefore crucial to identify an alternative to EDTA, a prevalent chelating agent known for its low biodegradability and relatively high toxicity. This study focuses on assessing the degree of biodegradation of iminoglutamic succinic acid (IGSA) and the toxicity of its half-decomposition products.
