Background: Indoor air pollution (IAP) is the major contributor (26%) to TB, in addition to other socioeconomic and environmental factors. It occurs in most developing countries like India, where people rely on the combustion of biomass-based solid fuels (low combustion efficiency and high pollution emissions) due to the prevailing socio-economic conditions. However, this cause-and-effect relationship between TB and IAP has not been studied much.

Complex metabolic diseases due to overnutrition such as obesity, type 2 diabetes, and fatty liver disease are a major burden on the healthcare system worldwide. Current research primarily focuses on disease endpoints and trying to understand underlying mechanisms at relatively late stages of the diseases, when irreversible damage is already done. However, complex interactions between physiological systems during disease development create a problem regarding how to build cause-and-effect relationships.

Material And Methods: The authors provide expert and court practice examples to show fundamental differences in forensic medical assessment of causal relations of improper provision of medical care with an adverse outcome. A focus is given to the court's assessment of expert opinions in a criminal process.

Real-time monitoring of reactive oxygen and nitrogen species (RONS) in skeletal muscle provides crucial insights into the cause-and-effect relationships between physical activity and health benefits. However, the dynamic production of exercise-induced RONS remains poorly explored, due to the lack of sensing tools that can conform to soft skeletal muscle while monitor RONS release during exercise. Here we introduce dual flexible sensors via twisting carbon nanotubes into helical bundles of fibers and subsequent assembling electrochemical sensing components.

Recent studies have explored the impact of personality traits, including mood swings, on physical health. However, it remains unclear whether there is a direct cause-and-effect link between mood swings and cardiovascular diseases (CVDs). A STROBE-compliant cross-sectional observational study was conducted and analyzed using a two-sample Mendelian randomization (MR) approach to examine the potential causal relationship between mood swings and a range of CVDs, such as arrhythmia, artery aneurysm, coronary heart disease (CHD), heart failure, hypertension, stroke, ischemic stroke, and peripheral artery disease.
