Background And Aims: Preterm birth increases the risk of neurodevelopmental impairments, such as Cerebral Visual Impairment (CVI), which affects visual processing. Assessing visual functions in young children is challenging with traditional methods that often rely on verbal/motor responses. The aim of the study was to investigate the developmental trajectories of Visual Orienting Functions (VOF) in children born very preterm (<32 weeks gestational age) between 2 and 5 years corrected age (CA) using eye tracking.

Importance: Diagnosis of pediatric ankyloglossia and other oral ties is increasing in part due to social media, leading to more frenotomies and excess medicalization of often normal anatomy.
Objective: To assess the accuracy and readability of social media content on pediatric ankyloglossia and other oral ties.
Design, Setting, And Participants: In this cross-sectional study, the top 200 posts on an image-based social media platform tagged with #tonguetie, #liptie, or #buccaltie were collected using a de novo account on March 27, 2023.

The electronic prescription of Labile Blood Products was recommended in a 1997 directive, to ensure transfusion safety in healthcare services. Following multiple institutional reminders by the Haemovigilance Unit of the Marseille Public Hospitals (APHM), the board of directors decided to set up a project for electronic transfusion records. Here we present the issues arising from this computerisation and the impact of this change of practice on the APHM and the Etablissement Français du Sang PACA-Corse (EFS PACA-Corsica; French Blood Institute Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur-Corsica).

Introduction: Up to 12% of patients undergoing minimally invasive inguinal hernia repair may develop chronic postoperative inguinal pain (CPIP), possibly explained by the presence of mesh. Recent studies reported that laparoscopic mesh removal is feasible and safe. However, the risk of a hernia recurrence is unknown.

To address the deficiencies in privacy-preserving expressive query and verification mechanisms in outsourced key-value stores, we propose EKV-VBQ, a scheme designed to ensure verifiable Boolean queries over encrypted key-value data. We have integrated blockchain and homomorphic Xor operations and pseudo-random functions to create a secure and verifiable datastore, while enabling efficient encrypted Boolean queries. Additionally, we have designed a lightweight verification protocol using bilinear map accumulators to guarantee the correctness of Boolean query results.
