Dental fluorosis results from excess fluoride ingestion during tooth formation and is commonly seen in certain endemic areas. Its clinical manifestations may range from white opaque patches of enamel in mild cases to pitting and loss of enamel in severe cases. The treatment of fluorosis is important not only because of esthetic and functional concerns but also to help improve a patient's self-esteem; therefore, a multidisciplinary approach is often necessary. This article describes a multidisciplinary approach to complete-mouth rehabilitation of a patient affected with fluorosis. A confluence of the endodontic, periodontal, orthodontic, and prosthodontic disciplines resulted in improved esthetics and enhanced masticatory efficiency.

In recent years, scientists have started evaluating the portion of PM-bound pollutants that may be liberated (bioaccessible fraction) in human fluids and spread through the digestive system ultimately entering systemic circulation (known as the bioavailable fraction). In the current research, an analytical procedure was validated and applied to characterize the oral bioavailable fraction of PM samples. The approach encompassed the determination of 49 organic contaminants.

Objective: This article highlights a CAD/CAM complete-mouth rehabilitation in an 82-year-old patient by means of a complete maxillary prosthesis and mandibular implant- and tooth-supported fixed restorations made from multilayered zirconia.
Clinical Considerations: Comprehensive complete-mouth rehabilitations in elderly patients with adaptation of the occlusal vertical dimension (OVD) often present particular challenges. This applies especially when exacting functional and esthetic requirements are to be met and the treatment should not cause the patient too much effort, still ensuring the highest level of quality and efficiency and a low intervention rate.
