A 45 Gb/s four-level pulse amplitude modulation (PAM4) transmission based on an 850 nm/7.4 GHz vertical cavity surface emitting laser (VCSEL) with light injection and optoelectronic feedback techniques is proposed. Experimental results show that such an 850 nm/7.4 GHz VCSEL with light injection and optoelectronic feedback techniques is powerful enough for a 45 Gb/s PAM4 signal transmission. To the best of our knowledge, this Letter is the first to adopt a VCSEL transmitter with light injection and optoelectronic feedback techniques in a 45 Gb/s PAM4 transmission system. Good bit error rate performance and three independent clear eye diagrams are achieved over a 200-m OM4 multimode fiber transport. This proposed 45 Gb/s PAM4 VCSEL-based transmission system has great potential for providing effective bandwidth in short-reach optical data communications.

Background: When exposed to ambient light, parenteral nutrition (PN) contamination with peroxides almost doubles, which increases oxidative stress in preterm infants, contributing to the development of bronchopulmonary dysplasia. The American Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (ASPEN) recommends complete PN photoprotection to reduce peroxide contamination and optimize its integrity but acknowledges the challenges of its implementation. In this study, a novel photoprotection procedure was tested for its effectiveness in reducing peroxide load and limiting ascorbic acid degradation, and for its feasibility and effectiveness in reducing urinary peroxide levels in preterm infants.

Background And Purpose: Psilocybin is a serotonergic psychedelic with therapeutic potential for several neuropsychiatric disorders, including depression and anxiety disorders. Serotonin-transporter (5-HTT) knockout mice (KO) are a well-validated mouse model of anxiety/depression and are relevant to both chronic treatment with serotonin transporter reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) and polymorphisms in the serotonin transporter-linked polymorphic region (5-HTTLPR) associated with depression/anxiety and resistance to classic antidepressant treatments. Rapid heating cycle molding technology has recently emerged as a novel injection molding technique, with the uniformity of temperature distribution on the mold cavity surface being a critical factor influencing product quality. A numerical simulation method is employed to investigate the rapid heating process of molds and optimize heating power, with the positions of heating rods as variables. The temperature uniformity coefficient is an indicator used to assess the uniformity of temperature distribution within a system or process, while the thermal response rate plays a crucial role in evaluating the heating efficiency of a heating system.
