Supersonic shear wave elastography is a novel ultrasound technology that allows objective evaluation of soft tissue stiffness. The purpose of this study is to report an artifact in supersonic shear wave elastography that may strongly affect the accuracy and quality of the measurement of soft tissue stiffness, and to step-by-step describe how the artifact was found and how it was verified by a series of experiments under different conditions. There were a total of three longitudinal band-like artifacts, 1.3 cm apart from each other on the entire image along the length of the SuperLinear SL15-4 transducer surface, with the middle one at the center of the image. When using supersonic shear wave elastography, users should be keenly aware of the possible occurrence of the artifact and avoid it by choosing the quantification measurement regions of interest (ROIs) away from the artifact regions.

The aim of this study was to investigate the accuracy in fibrosis staging of a novel shear wave elastography (SWE) device (S-Shearwave Imaging by Samsung) and a previously validated 2D-SWE by Supersonic Imagine (SSI) in patients with biopsy proven metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD). This prospective study included 75 consecutive patients with MASLD who underwent liver biopsy for suspected MASH. All patients underwent S-Shearwave Imaging by Samsung and 2D-SWE with SSI on the same day of liver biopsy.

Purpose: Shear wave elastography (SWE) is a valuable tool in discerning the malignancy risk of thyroid nodules. This study investigates whether 2D-SWE can reliably differentiate malignant thyroid nodules in patients with chronic autoimmune thyroiditis (CAT), despite the challenges posed by fibrosis, which can increase tissue stiffness and complicate diagnosis.
Methods: This retrospective observational study evaluated 130 thyroid nodules (91 benign, 39 malignant) in patients with underlying CAT using conventional ultrasound (B-mode) and 2D-SWE with SuperSonic Mach30 equipment (Supersonic Imagine, Aix-en-Provence, France).

Ultrasound shear wave elastography (SWE) has emerged as a promising non-invasive method for muscle evaluation by assessing the propagation velocity of an induced shear wavefront. In skeletal muscles, the propagation of shear waves is complex, depending not only on the mechanical and acoustic properties of the tissue but also upon its geometry.
