BaLuF:Ce,Tb,Eu(Sm) submicrospheres were synthesized via an ILs/ethylene glycol(EG) two-phase system. The crystalline phase, size, morphology, and luminescence properties were characterized using powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), field emission-scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), photoluminescence (PL) spectra. The results show that 1-methyl-3-octylimidazolium hexafluorophosphate ([Omim]PF) was used as fluoride source and capping agent to tune morphology and size of the crystals. The formation mechanism has been supposed. Under the excitation of ultraviolet, the BaLuF:5%Ce,5%Tb, BaLuF:Eu, and BaLuF:5%Ce,5%Sm exhibit green and red emission, which was derived from Tb, Eu, and Sm emission. When codoping Ce, Tb, Sm or Eu together, multi-color emission can be realized. Furthermore, this synthetic route may have potential applications for fabricating other lanthanide fluorides.

A layer-by-layer chemical bonding strategy was developed for fast in situ growth of bifunctional mesoporous covalent organic framework submicrospheres (COF SMSs) on the nickel-chromium alloy (Ni-Cr) fiber substrate via the ultrasound-assisted Schiff-base reaction for the first time. COF SMSs showed well-defined morphology, extraordinary high surface area (1211 m·g) and narrow mesopore (2.50 nm) as well as excellent stability.

The significant volume change experienced by silicon (Si) anodes during lithiation/delithiation cycles often triggers mechanical-electrochemical failures, undermining their utility in high-energy-density lithium-ion batteries (LIBs). Herein, we propose a sub micro-nano-structured Si based material to address the persistent challenge of mechanic-electrochemical coupling issue during cycling. The mesoporous Si-based composite submicrospheres (M-Si/SiO/CS) with a high Si/SiOcontent of 84.

Bimetallic phosphides are considered as promising electrocatalysts for zinc-air batteries toward oxygen evolution reaction (OER) and oxygen reduction reaction (ORR). To address the semi-conductor inherent low electronic conductivity and catalytic activity, a polymetal-chelated strategy is employed to in situ fabricate bimetallic nanophosphides within carbon matrix anchoring by chemical bonding. The employment of biomolecule polydopamine (PDA) efficiently anchors various transition metal ions due to its strong chelating capability via inherent functional groups.
