Purpose: To compare the anatomical and visual outcomes in eyes with submacular hemorrhage (SMH) treated with a combination of ranibizumab (RBZ) either innovator or biosimilar (Razumab) and intravitreal perfluoropropane gas (CF).

Methods: Treatment naïve neovascular age related macular degeneration (n-AMD) patients with SMH were retrospectively analyzed. Patients received either innovator or biosimilar RBZ (3 loading doses followed by pro re nata regimen) and single injection of intravitreal CF.

This study investigates the critical impact of incipient sediment motion on sediment transport estimation and riverbed evolution prediction. In this research, we examine the effects of ice cover on the vertical distribution of flow velocity, establishing a mathematical relationship between the vertical average flow velocities in open channel and ice-covered flows. This leads to the derivation of a formula for incipient motion velocity under ice cover.

Purpose: The purpose of this viewpoint was to advocate for increased study of semantic memory ability in traumatic brain injury (TBI).

Method: We review modern conceptualizations of semantic memory and its neural correlates and discuss how common neuroanatomical and cognitive deficits in TBI place this population at an increased risk for semantic disruption. Building on discussions at the 2024 International Cognitive-Communication Disorders Conference, we offer possible explanations for how these disruptions may have been overlooked by our field and offer examples of how semantic memory has been studied in other populations as well as how this work may apply to TBI research.

The Hunga Tonga-Hunga/Hunga-Ha'apai eruption on January 15, 2022 sent off a plume of ash material up to the stratosphere and triggered a meteotsunami and barometric pressure pulse that rippled through the atmosphere and oceans all around the world. The nature of the volcanic event and its global impacts on the oceans, atmosphere, lithosphere and the cryosphere are a matter of debate. Here we present a first overview of the time travel of the sound atmospheric pressure wave through the Antarctic continent based on in situ measurements, which represented a unique event observed through the polar ice sheet during the instrumental meteorological era.
