A neglected shoulder dislocation is a rarer entity and only few cases are reported in the literature. An anterior dislocation of the shoulder is rarely missed as patients present with limb in abduction and external rotation, an attitude very familiar to orthopaedic surgeon. Occasionally such cases are missed when they present with fracture of proximal humerus or when they receive treatment from unqualified practitioners who commonly practise in rural areas. Owing to very few reports there is paucity of literature and no standard treatment protocol exists for neglected anterior dislocation of the shoulder, though most such chronic cases are managed by open reduction. This case report describes a six months old neglected anterior dislocation with a significant Hill Sachs lesion, which was managed by closed reduction and Latarjet procedure.

We present the case of a 36-year-old male patient with a posttraumatic composite defect of the lower two-thirds of the anterior aspect of the left leg with exposed necrotic tibia in an old, neglected type 3b fracture of the tibia of 9-month duration. The options for definitive soft-tissue cover include microvascular free tissue transfer and cross-leg flaps. In trauma cases, the surrounding tissue is usually damaged, and the recipient vessels are frequently implicated, ruling out the use of a microvascular free flap.

Introduction: Raga County is an onchocerciasis-endemic area in the Western Bahr El Ghazal state of South Sudan, known to have a high prevalence of blindness. The objective of this study was to determine the causes of eye disease and blindness in Raga County as well as to assess the relationship of eye diseases with other prevalent conditions like onchocerciasis and epilepsy.
Methods: We reviewed unpublished pre-community directed treatment with ivermectin (CDTI) data about eye disease and onchocerciasis in Western Bahr El Ghazal including Raga.

Current models of psychedelic action in the brain propose changes along the dorsal-ventral and anterior-posterior axes but neglect to address the lateral axis. This article proposes a novel model of psychedelic action called HEALS (Hemispheric Annealing and Lateralization Under Psychedelics) which involves the reversal of the typical hierarchical relationship between the two hemispheres of the brain. In typical modes of consciousness, the hemispheres act in parallel process with the left predominating.

Childhood trauma (CT) has been consistently linked with etiology of anxiety and depression. Finding biomarkers that mediate the relationship between CT and psychopathology is important and electroencephalography (EEG) can be a useful and cost-effective tool serving this purpose. Hence, in the current research we investigated resting state EEG biomarkers associated with CT and how these may link to psychopathology of anxiety and depression in adults.
