Introduction Predatory journals are marked by inadequate editorial practices and peer review processes, diverging from established global standards in scientific publishing. This article, as a component of the ASGLOS Study, aims to explore the relationship between participant demographics and their experiences with targeted predatory business activities, including their approaches to managing daily predatory emails. Methods To collect the personal experiences of physicians' mailboxes on predatory publishing, a Google Form® survey was designed and disseminated from September 2021 to April 2022.

Credit is commonly being taken for authorship by those who fail to meet authorial criteria, which is unethical. Experienced co-authors are providing inadequate diligence in drafting, critical review, and final approval of submitted articles, which is unethical, or at the very least, careless.

With the advent of the author-pays business model replacing subscription, mercantile publishers have created journals. They respond to the dissatisfaction of naive researchers faced with the difficulties of publishing quickly and widely. These publishers favour commercial interests over knowledge and do not respect good publication practices.
