TCSRNet: a lightweight tobacco leaf curing stage recognition network model.

Front Plant Sci

December 2024

Jiangxi Branch of China National Tobacco Corporation, Nanchang, China.

Due to the constraints of the tobacco leaf curing environment and computational resources, current image classification models struggle to balance recognition accuracy and computational efficiency, making practical deployment challenging. To address this issue, this study proposes the development of a lightweight classification network model for recognizing tobacco leaf curing stages (TCSRNet). Firstly, the model utilizes an Inception structure with parallel convolutional branches to capture features at different receptive fields, thereby better adapting to the appearance variations of tobacco leaves at different curing stages.

This study presents a cutting-edge imaging technique for special unmanned vehicles (UAVs) designed to enhance tunnel inspection capabilities. This technique integrates ghost imaging inspired by the human visual system with lateral inhibition and variable resolution to improve environmental perception in challenging conditions, such as poor lighting and dust. By emulating the high-resolution foveal vision of the human eye, this method significantly enhances the efficiency and quality of image reconstruction for fine targets within the region of interest (ROI).

The Chinese cordyceps, a unique parasitic complex of / ghost moths and fungus in the Tibetan Plateau, is a highly valuable biological resource for medicine and health foods in Asian countries. Efficient system for artificial cultivation of Chinese cordyceps relies on understanding the gene functions involved in the induction of growing blastospores into hyphae in the larval hemolymph of insect host, during . infection.

Aiming at the problems of a large volume, slow processing speed, and difficult deployment in the edge terminal, this paper proposes a lightweight insulator detection algorithm based on an improved SSD. Firstly, the original feature extraction network VGG-16 is replaced by a lightweight Ghost Module network to initially achieve the lightweight model. A Feature Pyramid structure and Feature Pyramid Network (FPN+PAN) are integrated into the Neck part and a Simplified Spatial Pyramid Pooling Fast (SimSPPF) module is introduced to realize the integration of local features and global features.

Automation and quality control (QC) are critical in manufacturing safe and effective cell and gene therapy products. However, current QC methods, reliant on molecular staining, pose difficulty in in-line testing and can increase manufacturing costs. Here we demonstrate the potential of using label-free ghost cytometry (LF-GC), a machine learning-driven, multidimensional, high-content, and high-throughput flow cytometry approach, in various stages of the cell therapy manufacturing processes.
