The prevalence of sperm DNA fragmentation (SDF) is significantly higher in males with infertility, which is often associated with oligozoospermia and hypospermia. It can also occur in patients with infertility who have normal conventional semen indicators. The etiologies involve aberrations in sperm maturation, dysregulated apoptotic processes, and heightened levels of oxidative stress.

Common fibular nerve (CFN) palsy is the most common mononeuropathy in the lower limb, and several etiologies are described. The CFN is the minor and lateral division of the sciatic nerve; it originates in the lumbar sacral division, and many risks of compression have been described: the behavior of crossing and squatting legs, extra and intraneural compressions, local trauma, and weight loss have been increasingly reported as important and noteworthy causes. The treatment is based on the severity of the nerve condition.

Background: Numerous challenges exist in effectively bridging theory and practice in the teaching and assessment of clinical reasoning, despite an abundance of theoretical models. This study compares clinical reasoning practices and decisions between medical students and expert clinicians using a problem-solving framework from the learning sciences, which identifies clinical reasoning as distinct, observable actions in clinical case solving. We examined students at various training stages against expert clinicians to address the research question: How do expert clinicians and medical students differ in their practices and decisions during the diagnostic process?.

Inflammation has been confirmed to play an important role in the occurrence and development of sudden sensorineural hearing loss(SSNHL), and the neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio(NLR) is a biomarker positively correlated with the degree of inflammation. This study aims to identify the difference in serum NLR between patients with SSNHL and normal population, and to evaluate the predictive efficacy of NLR for the occurrence and prognosis of SSNHL, thereby guiding the clinical diagnosis and treatment of SSNHL. In this study, 96 patients diagnosed with SSNHL admitted to our department from January 2023 to March 2024 and 96 patients diagnosed with vocal cord polyps admitted to our department during the same period were recruited as a control group.
