Erythema multiforme major (EMM) is an acute, immune-mediated mucocutaneous disease that rarely affects the genital mucosal surfaces. This study describes a 39-year-old male with this rare disease and unusual presentation. The patient presented to an emergency department with oral lesions, drainage from both eyes, injected sclera, and characteristic targetoid lesions on the face, upper extremities, torso, and plantar surfaces of the feet.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of a 7-week supplemental BFR training intervention on both acute and chronic alterations in salivary testosterone (sTes) and cortisol (sCort) in collegiate American football players.
Methods: 58 males were divided into 4 groups: 3 completed an upper- and lower-body split resistance training routine (H, H/S, H/S/R; H = Heavy, S = Supplemental, R = BFR), with H/S/R performing end-of-session practical BFR training, and H/S serving as the volume-matched non-BFR group. The final group (M/S/R) completed modified resistance training programming with the same practical BFR protocol as H/S/R.

Tissue-resident memory CD8 T (T) cells provide protection from infection at barrier sites. In the small intestine, T cells are found in at least two distinct subpopulations: one with higher expression of effector molecules and another with greater memory potential. However, the origins of this diversity remain unknown.

Background: Existing risk scores assessing geriatric vulnerability in the emergency department (ED) have shown limited predictive power, especially in diverse populations. We investigated the relationship of a quick and easy-to-administer geriatric vulnerability scoring system with functional decline and mortality in older patients admitted to multiple hospitals through the ED in the United States (US) and Brazil (BR).
Method: Federated, international, multicenter observational study of hospitalized ED patients aged ≥ 65 from US and BR.

Pulmonary embolism (PE) and obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) remain a major health issue worldwide with potential overlapping pathophysiological mechanisms. PE, the most severe form of venous thromboembolism, is associated with high morbidity and mortality, presenting challenges in management and prevention, especially in high-risk populations. OSA is a prevalent condition characterized by repeated episodes of upper airway closure resulting in intermittent hypoxia and sleep fragmentation.
