Spontaneous electroencephalography (EEG) measurements have demonstrated putative variations in the neural connectivity of subjects with autism spectrum disorder, as compared to neurotypical individuals. However, the exact nature of these connectivity differences has remained unknown, a question that we now address. Resting-state, eyes-open EEG data were recorded over 20 min from a cohort of 13 males aged 3-5 years with autism spectrum disorder, and nine neurotypical individuals as a control group.

The objective was to estimate the cost-effectiveness of nirmatrelvir/ritonavir (NMV/r) in treating adults with COVID-19 at high-risk of developing severe COVID-19 who do not require supplemental oxygen, compared to no treatment, from the Spanish National Health System (NHS) perspective. A decision-tree for the first year followed by a two-state Markov model with annual cycles for a lifetime horizon was developed. A cohort of 1000 high-risk, symptomatic COVID-19 patients entered the decision-tree for each comparator, divided into hospitalized patients, considering their level of care, and outpatients, for whom only symptom duration was considered.

Objectives: We aimed to ascertain rates of completion of essential cardiac procedures and their overall contribution to longer-term mortality in children with congenital heart disease (CHD).

Methods: Cohort study using the United Kingdom National CHD Audit. For 9 sentinel CHDs (hypoplastic left heart syndrome (HLHS), non-HLHS functionally univentricular heart, ventricular septal defect, tetralogy of Fallot, coarctation, aortic stenosis, atrioventricular septal defect, transposition of the great arteries and pulmonary atresia) we described the pathway operations required for treatment that were undertaken at population-level, and the mortality associated with these pathway operations by age 5-years.

Background: External rectal prolapse is poorly understood, with controversy surrounding the ideal surgical approach. Anecdotal mentions of high and low take-off in the literature hint at different pathological phenotypes of prolapse. However there has been no effort to define and characterise these terms, or to discuss how take-off might relate to the underlying pathophysiology of prolapse.
