A 50 yr old female developed transient ST segment elevation due to an acute coronary vasospasm following a Indian Red Scorpion sting and the angiogram revealed 50% occlusion in right coronary artery (RCA).The possible mechanism is that the sympathetic over-activity could have aggravated the occlusion in the RCA as the RCA is more commonly prone to spasm compared to the other coronary arteries.

Ischemic stroke is responsible for significant morbidity and mortality in the United States and worldwide. Stroke treatment optimization requires emergency medical personnel to make rapid triage decisions concerning destination hospitals that may differ in their ability to provide highly time-sensitive pharmaceutical and surgical interventions. These decisions are particularly crucial in rural areas, where transport decisions can have a large impact on treatment times - often involving a trade-off between delay in pharmaceutical therapy or a delay in endovascular thrombectomy.

Neurotrophic factors are critical for establishing functional connectivity in the nervous system and sustaining neuronal survival through adulthood. As the first neurotrophic factor purified, nerve growth factor (NGF) is extensively studied for its prolific role in axon outgrowth, pruning, and survival. Applying NGF to diseased neuronal tissue is an exciting therapeutic option and understanding how NGF regulates local axon susceptibility to pathological degeneration is critical for exploiting its full potential.

Background: The potential for early white matter hyperintensities(WMH) regression and associated contributory factors remains uncertain. The purpose of this study is to investigate whether WMH regress at early time of three months after minor ischemic stroke (MIS) or transient ischemic attack (TIA), while also identifying factors that may influence this outcome.
Methods: A retrospective analysis of a prospective subcohort from the CHANCE trial comprising individuals with MIS and TIA was conducted.

A challenge in neuroimaging is acquiring frame sequences at high temporal resolution from the largest possible number of pixels. Measuring 1%-10% fluorescence changes normally requires 12-bit or higher bit depth, constraining the frame size allowing imaging in the kHz range. We resolved Ca or membrane potential signals from cell populations or single neurons in brain slices by acquiring fluorescence at 8-bit depth and by binning pixels offline, achieving unprecedented frame sizes at kHz rates.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to characterize whether pulsed ultrasound (PUS) affects transscleral drug delivery.
Methods: Fluorescein sodium (NaF, 376 Da) and fluorescein isothiocyanate-conjugated dextran 40 (FD-40, 40 kDa) were used as model drugs. Human sclera grafts were placed in modified Franz diffusion cells and were treated by PUS (1 megahertz [MHz], 0.
