The titanium alloy Ti-6Al-4V is used in many industries including aviation, automobile manufacturing, and medical equipment, because of its low density, extraordinary corrosion resistance and high specific strength. Electrochemical machining (ECM) is a non-traditional machining method that allows applications to all kinds of metallic materials in regardless of their mechanical properties. It is widely applied to the machining of Ti-6Al-4V components, which usually takes place in a multicomponent electrolyte solution. In this study, a 10% NaNO solution was used to make multiple holes in Ti-6Al-4V sheets by through-mask electrochemical machining (TMECM). The polarization curve and current efficiency curve of this alloy were measured to understand the electrical properties of Ti-6Al-4V in a 10% NaNO solution. The measurements show that in a 10% NaNO solution, when the current density was above 6.56 A·cm, the current efficiency exceeded 100%. According to polarization curve and current efficiency curve, an orthogonal TMECM experiment was conducted on Ti-6Al-4V. The experimental results suggest that with appropriate process parameters, high-quality holes can be obtained in a 10% NaNO solution. Using the optimized process parameters, an array of micro-holes with an aperture of 2.52 mm to 2.57 mm and maximum roundness of 9 μm were produced using TMECM.

Added electrons and holes in semiconducting (nano)materials typically occupy "trap states," which often determine their photophysical properties and chemical reactivity. However, trap states are usually ill-defined, with few insights into their stoichiometry or structure. Our laboratory previously reported that aqueous colloidal TiO nanoparticles prepared from TiCl + HO have two classes of electron trap states, termed and .

Nanobubbles are studied for their unique properties and possible applications in wound healing processes. This study investigates the effects of hydrogen (H₂), oxygen (O₂), and ozone (O₃) nanobubbles on fibroblast migration and proliferation using scratch wound healing assays. Fibroblast cells were treated with Dulbecco's Modified Eagle Medium (DMEM) combined with nanobubble solutions, and cell density was measured at 24 and 48 hours.

This study explores the use of functionalized manganese oxide (K-MnO-NH) for the removal of hexavalent chromium (Cr(VI)) ions, a highly toxic heavy metal contaminant, from wastewater. The synthesis of K-MnO-NH was achieved through a two-step process, followed by comprehensive characterization using various analytical techniques, which confirmed the material's formation as a pure phase. The K-MnO-NH exhibited exceptional chromium removal efficiency, achieving up to 90% (4.

Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) is the most fatal brain tumor with a poor prognosis with current treatments, mainly because of intrinsic resistance processes. GBM is also referred to as grade 4 astrocytoma, that makes up about 15.4 % of brain cancers globally as well as 60-75 % of astrocytoma.

MXene-based (nano)materials have recently emerged as promising solutions for antibiotic photodegradation from aquatic environments, yet they are limited by scalability, stability, and selectivity challenges in practical settings. We formulated FeO-SiO/MXene ternary nano-photocomposites via coupled wet impregnation and sonochemistry approach for optimised tetracycline (TC) removal (the second most used antibiotic worldwide) from water using response surface methodology-central composite design (RSM-CCD). The photocatalysts containing various loading of FeO/SiO (5-45 wt%) on the MXene with a range of calcination temperatures (300-600 °C) via RSM optimisation were synthesised, characterised regarding crystallinity properties, surface morphology, binding energy, and light absorption capability, and analysed for TC degradation efficiency.
