Regionalization has strengths and weaknesses. The balance of the two will vary over time, differing in different contexts and with different implementations. Alberta's implementation of a centralized structure had some strengths: economies of scale and expertise; opportunities for province-wide learning; internalization of geographic politics; and improved geographic equity. It also had weaknesses: diseconomies of scale, remoteness from communities and politicization. In any implementation of regionalization, policy makers should attempt to realize the benefits of alternative paths not travelled and minimise the weaknesses of the chosen structure.

Background: The long-term sequelae of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) and its recovery have becoming significant public health concerns. Therefore, this study aimed to enhance the limited evidence regarding the relationship between sleep quality on long COVID among the older population aged 60 years or old.
Methods: Our study included 4,781 COVID-19 patients enrolled from April to May 2023, based on the Peking University Health Cohort.

The mammalian nervous system is impacted by aging. Aging alters brain architecture, is associated with molecular damage, and can manifest with cognitive and motor deficits that diminish the quality of life. Astrocytes are glial cells of the CNS that regulate the development, function, and repair of neural circuits during development and adulthood; however, their functions in aging are less understood.

Groundwater contamination is a growing global concern. The objective of the present study is to assess the groundwater quality of Khairpur district, Sindh, Pakistan-a region which is emblematic of broad environmental and public health challenges prevalent in South Asian countries. The study also aims to comprehend the impact of arsenic (As), fluoride (F), and nitrate (NO) dynamics and its health implications.

Dysfunctional response inhibition, mediated by the striatum and its connections, is thought to underly the clinical manifestations of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). However, the exact neural mechanisms remain controversial. In this study, we undertook a novel approach by positing that a) inhibition is a dynamic construct inherently susceptible to numerous failures, which require error-processing, and b) the actor-critic framework of reinforcement learning can integrate neural patterns of inhibition and error-processing in OCD with their behavioural correlates.

In these cases, the antibiotics most often incriminated are macrolides and quinolones, but to our knowledge, there are no published cases of antibiomania secondary to cotrimoxazole. Furthermore, we also provide an update of pharmacovigilance data concerning antibiomania through a search of the World Health Organization (WHO) database.
