This study explores the potential for the synthesis of peptide nanosystems comprising spinorphin molecules (with rhodamine moiety: Rh-S, Rh-S5, and Rh-S6) conjugated with nanoparticles (AuNPs), specifically peptide Rh-S@AuNPs, peptide Rh-S5@AuNPs, and peptide Rh-S6@AuNPs, alongside a comparative analysis of the biological activities of free and conjugated peptides. The examination of the microstructural characteristics of the obtained peptide systems and their physicochemical properties constitutes a key focus of this study. Zeta (ζ) potential, Fourier transformation infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, circular dichroism (CD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM-EDS), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and UV-Vis spectrophotometry were employed to elucidate the structure-activity correlations of the peptide@nano AuNP systems.

Amoenucles A-F, novel nucleoside derivatives with TNF-α inhibitory activities from Aspergillus amoenus TJ507.

Chin J Nat Med

January 2025

Hubei Key Laboratory of Natural Medicinal Chemistry and Resource Evaluation, School of Pharmacy, Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan 430030, China. Electronic address:

Amoenucles A-F (1-6), six previously undescribed nucleoside derivatives, and two known analogs (7 and 8) were isolated from the culture of Aspergillus amoenus TJ507. Their structures were elucidated through spectroscopic analysis, single-crystal X-ray crystallography, and chemical reactions. Notably, 3 and 4 represent the first reported instances of nucleosides with an attached pyrrole moiety.

Using the first principle calculations, we propose a boron and nitrogen cluster incorporated graphene system for efficient valley polarization. The broken spatial inversion symmetry results in high Berry curvature at and valleys of the hexagonal Brillouin zone in this semiconducting system. The consideration of excitonic quasiparticles within the approximation along with their scattering processes using the many-body Bethe-Salpeter equation gives rise to an optical gap of 1.

Electrically Modulated Multilevel Optical Chirality in GdFeCo Thin Films.

ACS Appl Electron Mater

January 2025

Department of Applied Physics, National Pingtung University, No. 4-18, Minsheng Road, 90044 Pingtung, Taiwan.

This study introduces a simple approach to dynamically control multilevel optical ellipticity in ferrimagnetic GdFeCo alloys by switching the spin orientation through Joule heating induced by electrical current, with the assistance of a low magnetic field of 3.5 mT. It is demonstrated that selecting specific compositions of Gd (FeCo) alloys, with magnetic compensation temperatures near or above room temperature, allows for significant manipulation of the circular dichroism (CD) effect.

Amino acid identification is crucial across various scientific disciplines, including biochemistry, pharmaceutical research, and medical diagnostics. However, traditional methods such as mass spectrometry require extensive sample preparation and are time-consuming, complex and costly. Therefore, this study presents a pioneering Machine Learning (ML) approach for automatic amino acid identification by utilizing the unique absorption profiles from an Elliptical Dichroism (ED) spectrometer.
