A study was made of the effect of normothermic incubation on the metabolic state of parenchymal liver cells, isolated by the nonenzymatic method. In the process of a 2 hour incubation in the nutritious sodium-containing medium, a high level of the energy supply system is maintained, determined by the contents of adenine nucleotides, the rate of endogenous respiration and by its stimulation by succinate.

The changing epidemiological profile of invasive infections (IIHi) is noted in the post-vaccination era. The aim of this study was to characterize phenotypically and genotypically invasive (Hi) isolates detected in Tunisian pediatric patients. A retrospective study was conducted in the microbiology laboratory of the Children's Hospital of Tunis over ten years (2013-2023).

Advanced glycation end-products (AGEs) are products of a non-enzymatic reaction between amino acids and reducing sugars. Glycated human serum albumin (HSA) increases in diabetics as a consequence of elevated blood glucose levels and glycating metabolites like methylglyoxal (MGO). The impact of different types of glycation on the immunomodulatory properties of HSA is poorly understood and is studied here.

Bone marrow adipose tissue (BMAT) has garnered significant attention due to its critical roles in leukemia pathogenesis, cancer metastasis, and bone marrow failure. BMAT is a metabolically active, distinct tissue that differs from other fat depots. Marrow adipocytes, closely interacting with hematopoietic stem/progenitor cells and osteoblasts, play a pivotal role in regulating their functions.

Achieving sensors that can sensitively and selectively quantify levels of analytes in complex biofluids such as blood remains a significant challenge. To address this, we synthesized an array of isolated carbon nanochannels on a flat gold electrode that function as molecular sieves to prevent protein fouling and eliminate the need for antifouling layers. Utilizing a two-step pulsed technique, a reductive pulse expels negative interferences and fouling molecules followed by an oxidative pulse that oxidizes glucose at the bottom of the channel and on the gold surface.
