The tropical rainforest of Amazonia is one of the most species-rich ecosystems on earth, with an estimated 16000 tree species. Due to this high diversity, botanical identification of trees in the Amazon is difficult, even to genus, often requiring the assistance of parataxonomists or taxonomic specialists. Advances in informatics tools offer a promising opportunity to develop user-friendly electronic keys to improve Amazonian tree identification. Here, we introduce an original multi-access electronic key for the identification of 389 tree genera occurring in French Guiana forests, based on a set of 79 morphological characters related to vegetative, floral and fruit characters. Its purpose is to help Amazonian tree identification and to support the dissemination of botanical knowledge to non-specialists, including forest workers, students and researchers from other scientific disciplines. The electronic key is accessible with the free access software ², and the database is publicly available on figshare: https://figshare.com/s/75d890b7d707e0ffc9bf (doi: 10.6084/m9.figshare.2682550).

Flavonol glycosides are secondary metabolites important for plant development and stress defense such as UV-B irradiation. UDP-glycosyltransferase (UGT) catalyzes the last step in the biosynthesis of flavonol glycosides. Eriobotrya japonica is abundant in flavonol glycosides, but UGTs responsible for accumulation of flavonol glycosides remain unknown.

Sericulture waste poses significant challenges to industrial and environmental safety. Black soldier fly larvae (BSFL) offer a promising solution for organic waste management by converting it into insect protein. This study aimed to develop a microbial fermented method for utilizing sericulture waste to feed BSFL and explore the underlying mechanisms.

Microbial coalescence plays a crucial role in shaping aquatic ecosystems by facilitating the merging of neighboring microbial communities, thereby influencing ecosystem structure. Although this phenomenon is commonly observed in natural environments, comprehensive quantitative comparative studies on different lifestyle bacteria involved in this process are still lacking. The study focuses on 16S rRNA Amplicon Sequence Variants (ASVs) at the Jinsha River hydropower stations (Wudongde [WDD], Baihetan [BHT], Xiluodu [XLD], Xiangjiaba [XJB]), specifically examining free-living (FL) and particle-attached (PA) bacteria.

Ultrashort laser pulses are extensively used for efficient manipulation of interfacial spin injection in two-dimensional van der Waals (vdW) heterostructures. However, physical processes accompanying the photoinduced spin transfer dynamics on the all-semiconductor ferromagnetic vdW heterostructure remain largely unexplored. Here, we present a computational investigation of the femtosecond laser pulse induced purely electron-mediated spin transfer dynamics at a time scale of less than 50 fs in a vdW heterostructure.

B- and N-heterocyclic fluorophores have reveal promising efficiency in blue organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) with small full-width-at-half-maximum (FWHM). However, their structural determinants for spectral broadening and operating stability are still needed to be investigated in further. Herein, a novel multi-N-heterocycles Diindolo[3,2,1jk:3',2',1'jk]dicarbazole[1,2-b:4,5-b] (DIDCz) is proposed to manipulate the emission color toward pure blue region by extending π-conjugation of the N-π-N bridge.
