MicroRNAs (miRNAs) and transfer RNA-derived stress-induced RNAs (tiRNAs) have emerged as crucial players in the post-transcriptional regulation of gene expression in various cellular processes, including immunity and host defense against infections. In recent years, increasing evidence has highlighted their complex role in influencing the host response during viral and bacterial infections. miRNAs have been shown to play multiple roles in host-pathogen interaction like TLR activation and altered disease virulence during bacterial infections.

Introduction: Existing evidence suggests a lower uptake of cervical cancer screening among Indian women. Coverage is lower in rural than urban women, but such disparities are less explored. So, the present study was conducted to explore the self-reported coverage of cervical cancer screening in urban and rural areas stratified by socio-demographic characteristics, determine the spatial patterns and identify any regional variations, ascertain the factors contributing to urban-rural disparities and those influencing the likelihood of screening among women aged 30-49 years factors residing in urban, rural, and overall Indian settings.

Carbapenem resistant Acinetobacter baumannii has evolved as the most troublesome microorganism with multiple virulence factors. Biofilm formation, porins, micronutrient capturing mechanism and quorum sensing, provide protection against desiccation, host-pathogen killing and enhance its persistence. The conservation of these factors between colonizing and pathogenic carbapenem resistant A.

Nickel complexes are a potential candidate for antibacterial and antifungal activity. A new Ni (II) complex, bis(2-methoxy-6-{[(2-methylpropyl)imino]methyl}phenolato)nickel (II) (2), was synthesised by reacting, bis(3-methoxy-salicylaldehyde)nickel (II) (1) with isobutylamine. It was characterised by single crystal X-ray diffraction (ScXRD), UV-Vis, NMR, IR, mass spectrometry, and thermogravimetry (TG) to study its structure and physico-chemical properties.

Duck viral hepatitis (DVH) caused by duck hepatitis A virus (DHAV) is a highly contagious and economically important disease of ducklings worldwide. In many parts of the globe, disease outbreaks are reported in spite of vaccinations, probably due to antigenic diversity among DHAV genotypes. We previously reported the first isolation of DHAV-2 (Genotype -2) from ducklings in Tamil Nadu, India.
