The study of decentralization in Fiji shows that increasing capacities is not necessarily related to increasing decision space of local officials, which is in contrast with earlier studies in Pakistan. Future studies should address the relationship among decision space, capacities, and health system performance.

The concepts of planetary boundaries are influential in the sustainability literature and assist in delineating the 'safe operating spaces' beyond which critical Earth system processes could collapse. Moving away from our current trajectory towards 'hothouse Earth' will require knowledge of how Earth systems have varied throughout the Holocene, and whether and how far we have deviated from past ranges of variability. Such information can inform decisions about where change could be resisted, accepted or where adaptation is inevitable.

Introduction: Schistosomiasis has for many years relied on a single drug, praziquantel (PZQ) for treatment of the disease. Immense efforts have been invested in the discovery of protein kinase (PK) inhibitors; however, given that the majority of PKs are still not targeted by an inhibitor with a useful level of selectivity, there is a compelling need to expand the chemical space available for synthesizing new, potent, and selective PK inhibitors. Small-molecule inhibitors targeting the ATP pocket of the catalytic domain of PKs have the potential to become drugs devoid of (major) side effects, particularly if they bind selectively.

Automated polynomial formal verification using generalized binary decision diagram patterns.

Institute of Computer Science, University of Bremen, Bremen, Germany.

With the ongoing digitization, digital circuits have become increasingly present in everyday life. However, as circuits can be faulty, their verification poses a challenging but essential challenge. In contrast to formal verification techniques, simulation techniques fail to fully guarantee the correctness of a circuit.

Purpose: This study sought to explore the experiences of receiving formal psychological support following non-vascular-related lower limb amputation.

Materials And Methods: Semi-structured interviews were conducted with five individuals (3 males, 2 females, aged 38-56) with lower limb loss. Two had unilateral above knee amputations, one a unilateral below knee amputation, one a unilateral through-knee amputation, and one had bilateral above knee amputations.

A high security physical layer encryption scheme for dual-mode orthogonal frequency division multiplexing with index modulation (DM-OFDM-IM) in magnetic induction communication is proposed. The scheme utilizes DM-OFDM-IM, where subcarriers within each subblock are divided into two groups, each modulated by distinct signal constellations. DM-OFDM-IM leverages the sequential information from the modulated constellation to transmit extra information, leading to a substantial enhancement in spectral efficiency.
