. To compare the differences between medial and intercondylar infragenicular femoropopliteal prosthetic bypasses in terms of their midterm patency and limb salvage rates. . Ninety-three consecutive patients with peripheral arterial disease who underwent a simple distal femoropopliteal bypass using a reinforced polytetrafluorethylene graft were included in this retrospective study. The bypass was constructed in the intercondylar route in 52 of the patients (group A) and in 41 in the medial route (group B). . Median observation time of the patients was 12.7 (IQR 4.6-18.5) months. There were 22 and 24 interventional or surgical procedures (angioplasty, stenting, thrombolysis, thrombectomy, or correction of the anastomosis) performed to restore patency of the reconstruction in groups A and B, respectively ( = 0.14). The 20-month primary, assisted, and secondary patency rates and limb salvage rates were 57%, 57%, 81%, and 80% in group A compared to 21%, 23%, 55%, and 82% in group B ( = 0.0012, 0.0052, 0.022, and 0.44, resp.). . Despite better primary, assisted, and secondary patency rates in patients with a prosthetic infragenicular femoropopliteal bypass embedded in the intercondylar fossa compared to patients with the medial approach, there is no benefit in terms of the limb salvage rate and the number of interventions required to maintain patency of the reconstruction.

Background: The primary endpoint in diabetes-related foot ulcer (DFU) trials is often time to healing, defined as complete re-epithelialisation with absence of drainage, requiring clinical expert assessment as the gold standard. Central blinded photograph review for confirmation of healing is increasingly being undertaken for internal validity. The Diabetic Foot Ulcer Photography study aims to determine the agreement between blinded independent review panel members for assessing ulcer healing status in patients with DFUs.

Malignant mesenchymal tumors are a diverse group of aggressive cancers originating from mesenchymal cells in connective tissues such as bone, muscle, cartilage, and fat. These tumors often invade surrounding tissues and metastasize to distant organs, posing significant treatment challenges. Among them, malignant mesenchymal tumors located in the distal femur are particularly rare, with limited reports detailing effective surgical and functional reconstruction strategies following wide resection.

Background And Objectives: Soft tissue sarcomas (STSs) are rare but can be devastating. Paradigm shifts in adjuvant treatment have expanded the availability of limb salvage; however, a subset of patients still require amputation. The aim of this study was to examine the impact of patient, disease, and practice-related factors on rates of amputation in STS.

Postoperative imaging of musculoskeletal tumors poses a significant diagnostic challenge for radiologists. The complexity arises from the need to differentiate between expected postoperative changes, potential complications, and local recurrence. The choice of imaging modality depends on the type of primary tumor.

Background: Chondrosarcoma is the second most common bone malignancy. Chondrosarcoma is considered a surgical disease, and the role of surgical margin is important since local recurrence is known to decrease survival. The aim of this study was to investigate the timing of local recurrence and the size of local recurrence in post local recurrence survival in chondrosarcoma.
