Female genital mutilation (FGM) is a traditional practice that has no medical benefit and severe health consequences for girls and women. This article discusses the risks to patients who are pregnant and have had FGM. It will describe urinary tract infections caused by FGM, and how this condition increases the risk of preterm labour and delivery. It will also address the difficulty in vaginal examinations that can be caused by FGM and instances when this can delay diagnosis and treatment. In addition, it will explore a number of intrapartum risks caused by FGM and the role of deinfibulation in pregnancy. Finally, it will look at the link between maternal and fetal morbidity and mortality, and FGM.

Background: Female Genital Mutilation/Cutting (FGM/C) poses a significant public health challenge in developing countries, leading to increased risks of adverse obstetric outcomes such as caesarean section, postpartum hemorrhage, episiotomy, difficult labor, obstetric tears/lacerations, instrumental delivery, prolonged labor, and extended maternal hospital stays. The study aimed to determine the prevalence and factors associated with FGM/C among Tanzanian women who had given birth within five years preceding the Survey.
Method: This study utilized an analytical cross-sectional design based on data from the 2015-2016 Tanzania Demographic and Health Survey and Malaria Indicators Survey (TDHS-MIS).

In order to more effectively identify and discriminate the occurrence of hypoglycemic events in patients with T1DM, this study aims to evaluate the impact of two distinct glucose monitoring systems-Flash Glucose Monitoring (FGM) and Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM)-on the management of blood glucose levels and the emotional responses associated with hypoglycemic episodes in individuals with T1DM.
Method: In this study, a total of 113 patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus were enrolled and allocated to two groups for the implementation of Glucose Monitoring Systems (GMS).
