The reliability of extraction recovery of an analyte in bioanalysis is fundamentally important for downstream analytical testing. For dried format microsamples, if the recovery changes with time the concentration in clinical samples, derived from calibration standards and alongside quality control samples prepared following different drying protocols, may not reflect the true result. The purpose of this paper was therefore to evaluate changes to extraction recovery across time for one analyte, the glycopeptide antibiotic vancomycin, in plasma using two dried microsampling formats, dried plasma spots and volumetric absorptive microsampling.

In this study, a straightforward spectrophotometric method was developed for quantifying the total content of chalcones in a sample. The method exhibits linearity, accuracy, precision, repeatability, and enables the estimation of total chalcone content in trans-chalcone equivalents for a sample diluted in carbon tetrachloride and added to antimony pentachloride. The analytical wavelength was determined to be 390 nm.

Objectives: Platelet concentrates (PCs), which are blood products that are abundant in platelets and growth factors, have become pivotal in treating maxillofacial tissue lesions due to their capacity for promoting bone and soft tissue recovery. This review will provide some recent progress of the use of platelet concentrates to treat lesions on maxillofacial tissues.
Subjects: We reviewed the mechanisms by which PCs promote wound healing and tissue recovery and summarized the application of PCs in the treatment of lesions on maxillofacial tissues, including medication-related osteonecrosis of the jaw, post-extraction wound healing, implant surgery, temporomandibular joint diseases, and periodontal tissue restoration.

Although oil extraction is indispensable for meeting worldwide energy demands and ensuring industrial sustainability, various hazards are observed. Therefore, this study examined the chemical oil recovery-related environmental consequences concerning water, soil, ecosystem, and human health damages. A numerical analysis explored the mathematical model for oil extraction from unconventional sources by utilising 3D porous prism geometries under high-temperature conditions.
