AI Article Synopsis

  • Aesthetic dental appearance is dependent on the ideal exposure of incisors and gingival tissues, with 0-2 mm gingival exposure considered attractive when smiling and 2-4 mm when at rest.
  • The paper introduces the Functional Aesthetic Occlusal Plane (FAOP), aimed at improving diagnosis of relationships between molars, incisors, and the upper lip.
  • FAOP enhances existing orthodontic treatment plans by highlighting the position of incisors, which helps address both functional and aesthetic considerations.

Article Abstract

Introduction: A reasonable exposure of incisors and gingival tissues is generally considered more attractive than excess or lack of exposure. A reasonable gingival exposure is considered to be around 0 to 2 mm when smiling and 2-4 mm exposure of the maxillary incisor edge when the lips are at rest.

Objective: The aim of this paper is to present the Functional Aesthetic Occlusal Plane (FAOP), which aims to help in the diagnosis of the relationships established among molars, incisors and the upper lip.

Conclusion: FAOP can complement an existing and established orthodontic treatment plan, facilitating the visualization of functional and aesthetic demands by giving a greater focus on the position of incisors in the relationship established among the incisors, molars and the upper lip stomion.

Functional and esthetic results require accurate implant placement. We aimed to develop a predictive method for assessing dental implant accuracy, and to evaluate the cumulative system influence of surgical guides. A mathematical model was constructed to determine the influence of surface changes on a specific point, using Jacobian matrix expressions.

Thighplasty is a widely performed body contouring procedure, utilizing various surgical techniques for thigh lifting, including medial scar positioning, vertical and horizontal procedures, and liposuction. Despite its popularity, thighplasty is associated with high complication rates and suboptimal postoperative outcomes. This article presents a novel technique: the J medial thighplasty combined with helium plasma radiofrequency technology (HPRF) to address moderate skin and soft-tissue laxity and ptosis in the inner thighs.

Background: Obesity is a multifactorial disease reaching pandemic proportions with increasing healthcare costs, advocating the development of better prevention and treatment strategies. Previous research indicates that the gut microbiome plays an important role in metabolic, hormonal, and neuronal cross-talk underlying eating behavior. We therefore aim to examine the effects of prebiotic and neurocognitive behavioral interventions on food decision-making and to assay the underlying mechanisms in a Randomized Controlled Trial (RCT).
