Minoxidil is a vasodilator medication known for its ability to promote hair growth. Although it was first introduced as an oral drug to treat hypertension, minoxidil was observed to have the important side-effect of increasing hair growth. Background: Chronic telogen effluvium (CTE) is characterized by hair loss lasting for more than 6 months and severely impairs quality of life (QoL). There is no specific treatment.
Aims: To assess the dermatological tolerance and clinical efficacy of a hair serum containing three plant-derived active ingredients (a Silybum marianum extract, Manganese PCA, and a Lespedeza capitata extract) in women with CTE.

Background: While alopecia associated with chemotherapy, radiation, or hematopoietic stem-cell transplant (C/R/HSCT) is transient in most children, prior reports indicate nearly one in seven childhood cancer survivors suffer from persistent alopecia after their treatment is completed. The objective of our study was to better characterize the impact of C/R/HSCT-associated persistent alopecia on patient quality of life.
Procedure: A cross-sectional cohort study of patients with a history of C/R/HSCT who were seen at Dana Farber Cancer Institute/Boston Children's Hospital Dermatology from August 2023 to February 2024 for any indication was conducted.

Lipedematous scalp (LS) and lipedematous alopecia (LA) are uncommon conditions with an unclear cause. Over the past century, about 115 cases have been documented in the literature. It is unknown if these disorders are indeed so uncommon or if cases that accept the illness as a structural alteration or are asymptomatic make the disease appear more uncommon than it is.
