Introduction: Pulmonary collapse after intubation is common, and it is caused by a variety of factors.
Case Presentation: A 21-year-old man presented at our operation room to undergo an appendectomy. Except for a history of cigarette smoking, his history was negative. Anesthesia was induced with 100% oxygen and sevoflurane, remifentanil infusion, and propofol. Neuromuscular block was obtained with rocuronium. The tip and cuff of a tracheal tube were lubricated with a topical metered-dose of 8% Lidocaine pump spray. After intubation, SPO2 suddenly decreased. The chest x-ray revealed right upper lobe atelectasis. Fiber optic bronchoscopy showed that a large amount of yellow sticky mucus had been secreted into the right main bronchus.
Conclusions: In Japan, 8% Lidocaine pump spray contains menthol and ethanol as additives. These additives, particularly menthol, might have led to excessive mucus production, although we did not analyze the mucus secretion.

Background: In cases of electrical storm, identifying the etiology is essential, as patients with reversible causes do not benefit from implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD). Given the diversity of pharmacologic and nonpharmacologic management tools available for hemodynamically unstable patients in electrical storm, all must be considered and tailored to each individual patient.
Case Description: This report describes a 36-year-old female without prior cardiac history who presented in ventricular fibrillation (VF) electrical storm.

Aims: The aim of this study was to explore whether continuous infusion causing lubrication can effectively alleviate pain during male urethral catheterization.
Methods: This prospective, multicenter, double-blinded study included 190 male patients scheduled for urethral catheterization. Patients were randomly allocated into four groups: Group A: the catheter was lubricated with paraffin; Group B: the catheter was lubricated with compound lidocaine gel; Group C: the pump continuously infusing with sterilized water; Group D: the pump continuously infusing with 2% lidocaine.

A patient who was 39 weeks pregnant was admitted to the hospital to be expecting labor and performed labor analgesia when the uterine orifice was opened to 2 cm. We successfully performed L2.3 epidural puncture in the lumbar space and equipped her with a self-controlled epidural analgesia infusion pump (100mL, 10mL 1% ropivacaine + 50ug sufentanil + 89mL normal saline) with a load of 8mL for continuous delivery.

Background: Del Nido cardioplegia (DNC) has extensively been used for pediatric population undergoing cardiac surgery. However, its use in adult cardiac surgeries have been limited thus, its benefits are not yet fully known. This analysis was performed to evaluate the impact of DNC versus any other type of cardioplegia in adult patients who are undergoing cardiac surgery.

Background: This study aims to explore the analgesic effect of lidocaine administered through the hepatic artery during hepatic artery infusion chemotherapy (HAIC) for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).
Methods: A total of 45 HCC patients were randomly divided into a study group and a control group. Both groups received oxaliplatin (OXA) based FOLFOX protocol via electronic infusion pump.
