Most ingested foreign bodies are best treated with endoscopically. If the sharp-pointed objects embedded in the esophageal wall, it may not be able to be removed by conventional endoscopic devices and surgery is required. Herein, we described a new technique for the extraction of both ends embedded sharp-pointed objects in the esophageal wall.

Medical wastes is about 1-2 % of urban wastes, which is very important in terms of health. The aim of this study is to analyze the effects of the COVID-19 epidemic on the quantity, quality and management of hospital waste data (infectious, general, sharp objects, and chemical wastes) in the two periods before and during the COVID-19 epidemic in Babol hospitals. In this regard, all 6 government hospitals were selected and investigated.

Background And Aims: Foreign body ingestion (FBI) in children requires early identification to prevent adverse outcomes and may necessitate endoscopic or surgical intervention. This study aims to develop a nomogram that identifies children who require urgent surgical or endoscopic intervention by using the patient's medical history and clinical parameters collected at admission.
Methods: This study is a retrospective review (01/2015-12/2020) of a multicenter case series of children admitted for FBI.
