The goal of maintenance of certification (MOC) activities is to ensure physicians are up to date on current practices and demonstrate the knowledge and skills required to provide patients with optimal care. The program's aim is to promote professional development, lifelong learning and quality assurance for the public and medical community. However, physicians are not happy with the current structure of the program, claiming it to be time-consuming, expensive and ineffective for their practice.

Background: Adolescents and emerging adults (AEA) with chronic health conditions may face numerous challenges when undergoing the transition from pediatric to adult health care. Despite the need for engagement with AEA in health research, little is known about how researchers operationalize this engagement. In an effort to enhance transparency in the practices of patient engagement, this commentary details the process of developing a pediatric-adult transition-specific youth advisory council in Alberta: the Transition Research Advisory Council (TRAC).

Heat shock factor (HSF)-type regulators are stress-responsive transcription factors widely distributed among eukaryotes, including fungi. They carry a four-stranded winged helix-turn-helix DNA-binding domain considered as the signature domain for HSFs. The genome of the opportunistic yeast encodes four HSF members, namely, Sfl1, Sfl2, Skn7, and the essential regulator, Hsf1.

Artificial intelligence (AI) is defined as the theory and development of computer systems able to perform tasks normally associated with human intelligence. At present, AI has been widely used in a variety of ultrasound tasks, including in point-of-care ultrasound, echocardiography, and various diseases of different organs. However, the characteristics of ultrasound, compared to other imaging modalities, such as computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), poses significant additional challenges to AI.
