Aim: Recto-urethral fistula (RUF) is a rare complication of radical prostatectomy. We report a transperineal approach using a fibrin sealant haemostatic patch.
Method: Five consecutive patients who developed RUF following radical prostatectomy had a direct transperineal repair with a haemostatic patch (TachoSil®) and were assessed at a median follow-up of 35.5 (21-45) months.
Results: There were no early postoperative complications. The average length of hospital stay was 5 (4-7) days. One patient developed recurrence 4 weeks after removal of the urethral catheter. Following healing in four patients the stoma was reversed at a median interval of 3 months, and 9.5 (7-10) months following the prostatic surgery. In the four patients with successful closure there was no case of recurrence or anorectal or urinary dysfunction at a median follow-up of 35.5 (21-45) months.
Conclusion: Direct transperineal repair of RUF reinforced with a fibrin haemostatic patch of TachoSil is safe and effective.

Introduction: There is a risk of iatrogenic vascular injuries during robotic-assisted laparoscopic excision of diaphragmatic endometriosis. Although studies are limited, the first reported case of a suprahepatic inferior vena cava (IVC) injury during robotic diaphragmatic endometriosis excision was successfully treated using a fibrin sealant patch, preventing exsanguination and conversion to laparotomy.
Case Description: A 36-year-old female with a history of recurrent catamenial pneumothorax and two prior video-assisted thoracoscopic surgeries to treat diaphragmatic endometriosis presented to our clinic with right-sided shoulder pain and a chest tube in place.

A 71-year-old gentleman with prior bioprosthetic aortic valve replacement was admitted with aortic valve dehiscence and an aortic root abscess. He underwent reoperative sternotomy, aortic root, mitral valve, and hemiarch replacement. To augment hemostasis, we implanted the "Martin Mattress"-a pericardial patch sutured to the fibrous ridge within the innominate vein, superior vena cava, right atrium, right ventricular outflow tract, and pulmonary artery-which is preferred to modified Cabrol fistula techniques in infectious root pathology.

Fusion of therapeutic proteins to the Fc fragment of human IgG1 promotes their FcRn-mediated recycling and subsequent extension in circulating half-life. However, different Fc-fused proteins, as well as antibodies with different variable domains but identical Fc, may differ in terms of extension in half-life. Here we compared the binding behaviour to FcRn of Fc-fused FVIII, Fc-fused FIX and two human monoclonal HIV-1 broadly-neutralizing IgG1, m66.

We herein describe a case of severe post-biopsy bleeding and perforation in gastric amyloidosis. A 70-year-old man who had been on dialysis underwent esophagogastroduodenoscopy and biopsy was performed. Post-biopsy bleeding occurred, and three times of coagulation hemostasis and once clip hemostasis were performed.
