Development of all-magnetic transistor with favorable properties is an important step towards a new paradigm of all-magnetic computation. Recently, we showed such possibility in a Magnetic Vortex Transistor (MVT). Here, we demonstrate enhanced amplification in MVT achieved by introducing geometrical asymmetry in a three vortex sequence. The resulting asymmetry in core to core distance in the three vortex sequence led to enhanced amplification of the MVT output. A cascade of antivortices travelling in different trajectories including a nearly elliptical trajectory through the dynamic stray field is found to be responsible for this amplification. This asymmetric vortex transistor is further used for a successful fan-out operation, which gives large and nearly equal gains in two output branches. This large amplification in magnetic vortex gyration in magnetic vortex transistor is proposed to be maintained for a network of vortex transistor. The above observations promote the magnetic vortex transistors to be used in complex circuits and logic operations.

Dirac-vortex cavities have single-mode emitting, scalable mode areas, arbitrary mode degeneracies, and vector-beam vertical emission, which attract more and more researchers' attention. Here, we demonstrate the single-mode of two-dimensional transverse magnetic (TM) Dirac-vortex topological cavity modes that are not only generally available for high power topological surface-emitting lasers (TCSEL) but also are one of the excellent candidates for refractive index sensors. The principle for winding number is studied, and the scaling laws are shown with cavity mode diameters.

Evidence for a metal-bosonic insulator-superconductor transition in compressed sulfur.

The abrupt drop of resistance to zero at a critical temperature is a key signature of the current paradigm of the metal-superconductor transition. However, the emergence of an intermediate bosonic insulating state characterized by a resistance peak preceding the onset of the superconducting transition has challenged this traditional understanding. Notably, this phenomenon has been predominantly observed in disordered or chemically doped low-dimensional systems, raising intriguing questions about the generality of the effect and its underlying fundamental physics.

A magnetic vortex (MV) is one of the fundamental and topologically nontrivial spin textures in condensed matter physics. Magnetic vortices are usually the ground states in geometrically restricted ferromagnets with zero magnetocrystalline anisotropy. Magnetic vortices have recently been proposed for use in a variety of spintronics applications due to their resistance to thermal perturbations, flexibility in changing core polarity, simple patterning procedure, and potential uses in magnetic data storage with substantial density, sensors for the magnetic field, devices for logic operations, and other related fields.

A new analytical method was developed for the determination of 14 multiclass emerging organic contaminants in surface waters using LC-MS, and Dispersive Liquid-Liquid Microextraction (DLLME) for extraction. Different Natural Deep Eutectic Solvents (NADESs) composed of terpenes and organic acids were tested as extraction solvents and characterized by Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), Hydrogen Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy (H-NMR), Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC), Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA), density, and viscosity, eliminating the need to use traditional chlorinated solvents. NADES produced with butyric acid and thymol showed the best results and was selected for application for the first time in the extraction of emerging organic contaminants of different classes in water samples.

Four-dimensional flow magnetic resonance imaging (4D flow MRI) was utilized to analyze an aortic dissection with an aberrant right subclavian artery, revealing vortex formation and an increased oscillatory shear index (OSI), both indicative of variations in wall shear stress. An elevated OSI has been associated with an elevated risk of aortic dissection.
