Introduction: Dermatological conditions affecting the nails can manifest differently in individuals with distinct skin tones. This often leads to difficulty in the recognition of nail diseases, especially in people with skin of color (SoC), who are not well represented in the literature.
Objectives: Our aim was to provide dermatologists with useful clues for prompt recognition and diagnosis of nail psoriasis (NPso) and nail lichen planus (NLP) in people with SoC.

We report on two cases of nail tumors associated with onychorrhexis, distal V‑shaped onycholysis, and subungual keratosis. Surgical exposure was performed in each case to confirm the diagnosis. Histopathological examination revealed skin changes consistent with onychopapilloma.

Nail psoriasis occurs in approximately half of all cases of plaque psoriasis and manifests with onychodystrophy, which includes morphological features of onycholysis, subungual hyperkeratosis, oil drop sign, pitting, splinter hemorrhages, leukonychia, and crumbling of the nails. Nail psoriasis can have a significant adverse impact on quality of life. However, nail psoriasis is often refractory to both local and systemic therapies, making it challenging to treat.
