Superelastic and pressure-sensitive carbonaceous nanofibrous aerogels with a honeycomb-like structure are fabricated through the combination of sustainable konjac glucomannan biomass and flexible SiO nanofibers. The aerogels can detect dynamic pressure with a wide pressure range and high sensitivity, which enables real pressure signals, such as human blood pulses, to be monitored in real time and in situ.

Ceramic aerogels are promising high-temperature thermal insulation materials due to their outstanding thermal stability and oxidation resistance. However, restricted by nanoparticle-assembled network structures, conventional ceramic aerogels commonly suffer from inherent brittleness, volume shrinkage, and structural collapse at high temperatures. Here, to overcome such obstacles, 3D ultralight and highly porous carbon tube foams (CTFs) were designed and synthesized as the carbonaceous precursors, where melamine foams were used as the sacrificial templates to form the hollow and thin-wall network structures in the CTFs (density: ∼4.

Due to the large ionic radius and associated slow reaction kinetics of potassium ions, it is a major challenge to find suitable anode materials for potassium-ion batteries. Herein, we design porous antimony-based nanofibres via a simple, low-cost and large scalable method to promote the electrochemical performance of potassium-ion batteries. Unlike those traditionally treated in inert atmospheres, using the different decomposition processes of polyacrylonitrile and polyvinylpyrrolidone in air, we obtain antimony trioxide embedded in porous carbon nanofibres (SbO@PCN).

Potassium metal is an appealing alternative to lithium as an alkali metal anode for future electrochemical energy storage systems. However, the use of potassium metal is hindered by the growth of unfavourable deposition (e.g.

Carbon fibre reinforced polymer composites have high mechanical properties that make them exemplary engineered materials to carry loads and stresses. Coupling fibre and matrix together require good understanding of not only fibre morphology but also matrix rheology. One way of having a strongly coupled fibre and matrix interface is to size the reinforcing fibres by means of micro- or nanocarbon materials coating on the fibre surface.

The reversible redox of methylene blue in organic solvents was highly attractive, yet was rarely reported. In this study, we realized the continuous filtration redox of methylene blue (MB) in dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO) through Fenton-like oxidization by using MnO loaded carbonaceous nanofibrous membrane (cPAN-MnO). The carbonaceous nanofibrous membrane (cPAN) was fabricated through electrospun of polyacrylonitrile and subsequent carbonization.
