Purpose: This study aims to identify key genes that may be involved in the pathogenesis of gestational diabetes mellitus and to preliminarily elucidate the underlying mechanisms.

Methods: High-throughput transcriptome sequencing was employed to identify Differentially expressed genes (DEGs) in placental tissue samples of GDM and normal pregnant women. Functional and pathway analyses of these DEGs were conducted using bioinformatics databases.

Retention mechanism in slalom chromatography: Perspectives on the characterization of large DNA and RNA biopolymers in cell and gene therapy.

Waters Corporation, Instrument/Core Research/Fundamental, Milford, MA, 01757, USA. Electronic address:

Significant progress has been made in the last two decades in producing small (<2μm), high-purity, and low-adsorption particles, columns and system hardware, for ultra-high pressure liquid chromatography (UHPLC). Simultaneously, the recent rapid expansion of cell and gene therapies for treating diseases necessitates novel analytical technologies for analyzing large (>2 kbp) plasmid double-stranded (ds) DNA (which encodes for the in vitro transcription (IVT) of single-stranded (ss) mRNA therapeutics) and dsRNAs (related to IVT production impurities) biopolymers. In this context, slalom chromatography (SC), a retention mode co-discovered in 1988, is being revitalized using the most advanced column technologies for improved determination of the critical quality attributes (CQAs) of such new therapeutics.

In phage display technology, exogenous DNA is inserted into the phage genome, which generates a fusion protein with the phage coat protein, facilitates expression and promotes biological activity. This approach is primarily used to screen antibody libraries owing to its high library capacity and fast technical cycle; additionally, various types of genetically altered antibodies can be easily produced. In this study, we fused the pIII structural protein of the M13K07 phage with a scFv created by connecting the VH and VL domains of an anti-IFN-γ antibody.

The considerable abundance and remarkable stability of sEVs provide substantial benefits for diagnosing Alzheimer's disease. Therefore, precise tracking subtypes of small extracellular vesicles (sEVs) is crucial for screening novel diagnostic biomarkers and developing therapeutic technologies. We propose a three-target recognition-mediated proximity ligation assay for the precise identification of sEV subtypes utilizing three specifically designed probes: one for the exosomal surface protein CD63 recognition, one for fixing the biolipid layer, and the third for the identification of distinctive protein associated with a specific subtype of sEVs (L1CAM positive sEVs).

Electronic address:

There is a critical need for inclusive diagnostic platforms to enhance the accuracy of early breast cancer detection. Dysregulated microRNA-1246 (miR-1246), closely linked to the disease progression and recurrence, has emerged as a promising diagnostic and prognostic biomarker for BC. However, achieving simple, rapid, and ultrasensitive quantification of serum miRNAs remains significant challenge.
